My 5 Minute Face

I LOVE makeup! Take me to the Clinique counter any day! I am the least bit of a morning person that you could find so my makeup routine should not take long. (or keep me from my morning coffee) I’ve had a lot of makeup questions over the years so this week I am sharing how I do my 5 minute face.

Good Morning Gorgeous Print/Makeup Box/Nail Polish

When I was picking my usual products out of my makeup box I was finding it quite ironic that there are only 5 products that I use. So it’s a 5 product, 5 minute face. One of my biggest rules about putting on makeup, is that it should NEVER feel like a chore When I get ready in the morning I always view it as playing dress up. What feminine woman doesn’t have an inner little girl that loves to play dress up? I also prefer my makeup to look more natural. I save fashion trends for my wardrobe and stick with safe neutrals for my face, except when it comes to my hot pink lipstick! 😉

Step 1: CC Cream

I have been using this Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream in Light Medium instead of foundation for almost two years now. I absolutely love the lightness of it! Foundations usually feel a bit cakey to me, and this CC cream feels like I applied a very light lotion on my face instead of a heavy base. The color matches beautifully with my olive skin and it looks totally natural! Plus I love the fact that it has a built in SPF as my face is usually the first to burn in the sun.fullsizerender-copy

Step 2: Matte Sheer Powder

I use Clinique’s Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder in Stay Neutral to smooth out any leftover lines and spots that might have been left over from the CC Cream. I never go without using the powder to help cover the dark spots under my eyes (evidence of lack of sleep!) and since my nose is almost always red and shiny (no Rudolph’s here!) I like to spend a bit more time on that as well. This powder is very light and smooth so I still don’t have the cakey feeling but keeps that natural look.fullsizerender-copy-11

Step 3: Eye Shadow

When it comes to my eyeshadow I like to stay with neutral tones. Once in a great while I will add a soft pink but normally I stick with gold tones like Clinique’s All About Shadow Super Shimmer in Daybreak. There is just something about this color that makes me feel like a goddess. I’ve actually been wearing it since I was 16! Sure I’ve had other colors here and there but I keep going back to Daybreak. It’s a lovely rich gold color and just blends beautifully with my skin tone no matter what season I am in. fullsizerender-copy-13

Step 4: Mascara

I know that I have mentioned my mascara on the blog before, but Clinique’s High Lengths Mascara in Black is still my go to. The tip of the wand is curved like your eye so I find that I have a lot less smears than other mascaras. Also the bristles help prevent clumping making this an easy and quick mascara to apply. Without needing to clean up smears, smudges and clumps I am able to apply this mascara quickly so that I can head out the door. fullsizerender-copy-3

Step 5: Lipstick

Although my lipstick changes with my outfits and my mood I keep Clinique’s Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick in Matte Petal on constant rotation. I might have three tubes of it. (Guilty!) I have found lately that I prefer the matte lipsticks as they seem to last longer.  I wouldn’t dare leave the house without a quick application of lipstick! How long does it take you to play dress up in the morning? Do you have another product you can’t leave the house without? Have a great week everyone!

Blessings,
