As a dress girl there’s nothing I love more than a black maxi! I wear them on repeat in the summer as it’s just so classy and effortless. I’ve missed them like crazy these past few months, so I decided to challenge myself into figuring out a way to be able to wear it in the winter while still staying warm. The answer? I’ve gone Sporty Spice Katie.
I’m incredibly lucky to have not only a mile long wellness path in my backyard, but the High School football field as well! It allows me to have options on where and how I want to spend my workout. Although I love my barre work outs I do like to go for a run now and then. Especially as the temperatures are cooling down.
Summer time is a completely different feeling here in Michigan. I feel like the other three seasons are all in anticipation for these few months of sunshine. The weather is different, I’m outside more, my makeup changes with my tan and I can’t wait to spend a day on a lazy river! This week I am sharing my top 3 summer beauty must haves for the next couple of months!
I have always loved living and working in my hometown Chelsea, and one of my favorite little stores in Chelsea just happens to be the Attic Boutique. The Attic is one of the most charming little stores located on Middle Street. It’s the perfect place to stock up on some of my favorite jewelry pieces or even purchase a great dress or top.
I really enjoy summer, especially living here in Michigan. The weather is usually warm, but not very hot and the humid is literally just right. For most Michigander’s summer means a sigh of relief from the miserable long cold winters and that we can finally go outside and play!
Below is a list of my favorite activities and things to do when summer hits the North! Hopefully you can add these to your own summer fun either here or in your own town/city near you!
This past April I hosted the first (with many more to come) Chelsea Quilt Retreat! This retreat took many years to put together to not only convince my Mom and I to host it, but to find a location and really take the plunge. The retreat was Friday, Saturday and Sunday and let me tell you everyone came in excited and left exhausted! I worked so hard to make this event as perfect as I could, which also meant that I had very little sleep and needed to recover from all of the fun for almost a week!
